Capitol Hill Baptist Church v. Muriel Bowser and District of Columbia
A letter to our members. Our first suspension of services for 102 years--since the Spanish Flu of 1918. Let us pray for God's mercy & Grace on us and our community in these days. And for it soon to be safe for us to meet again. https://t.co/q59Wq6l9zd

Because a video of a sermon is not a substitute for a covenanted congregation assembling together and all the various means of God's grace in that. I think it would be healthier to respect God's strange providence in a period of abstinence from meeting together.

Capitol Hill Baptist Church, a prominent Evangelical church in Washington, D.C., is suing Mayor Muriel Bowser and the District of Columbia for its restrictions on religious gatherings. The lawsuit argues that D.C.'s restrictions on mass gatherings infringe on the church's First and Fifth Amendment rights and violate the Religious Freedom Restoration Act.
