It’s another to do the COVID-19 equivalent of jumping off the pinnacle of the temple. We ought to approach this somewhere between those two extremes, where we’re not being distrustful of God, but we’re also not tempting God. • It is myopic. By that, I mean you’re too focused on the temporal, earthly side of things, and not focused enough on the spiritual and eternal meanings of the passage. Temporal things are important, no doubt, but I think the main import of the Psalm relates to the spiritual and eternal realm.
