certainly, a year ago, none of us imagined the coronavirus would come to dwell among us and take so many people with it. and we know that just this past summer, we lost a young man in the Berkeley Jewish community to water. and not so many years ago, we lost another young man in our larger Jewish community to fire. it's real; it happens, and the line is so thin.
