Listening, listening to a word of hope, which is why the story of the pandemic of 1918 is so peculiar. You've heard it undoubtedly on the news. As people intend to draw some parallels between our experience and that which happened over a century ago, the Spanish flu infected around 500 million people worldwide, 50 million lost their life. And what was particularly brutal about that bout was that the age range that was most severely affected or people whose ages oscillated between 20 and 40. So think about it. My friend, the flu comes to your town and it devastates your community, but not only that, it begins to systematically eat away at the very fabric of society. And in the midst of this pandemic in 1918, a group of new Yorkers decided to break any protocol of social distancing in order to, of all things, go watch a movie.
