Back when I was in seminary, I had a seminary friend who was very much involved in youth ministry and, and youth activities and whatnot in his home diocese. And he had a t-shirt that I had never seen before, but I thought it was really kind of cute. Had a whole bunch of fish swimming in a direction that had one big fish swimming in the other direction. And underneath it was go against the flow. Now, of course, the fish is a symbol, one of the earliest symbols of Christianity. And it was an admonition to young adults to go against the flow, precisely because the flow is so strong and sometimes in a particular direction that might not lead one to a deeper faith and life in the church that young Catholics were being encouraged.
