When he gets to Jerusalem, those people will kill him and anybody attached to Jesus quickly, their popularity fades into suffering. The fear of a hypocrite. Primarily the Pharisees is to lose the praise of men. The reputation of men, the smiles of men and the approval of men. Can anybody here say you don't struggle with that. In fact, Jesus is going to highlight this hypocrisy of the Pharisees that he concerns with or wants them to be aware of in chapter 11, he would say, now your Pharisees, you make clean the outside of the cup and the platter, but inside is full of ravening and wickedness. Now there's a picture of hypocrisy. It means to wear the mask. That's why Jesus says, though, there's nothing covered that shall not be made known. And there's nothing hid that shall not be revealed because a mask hide something. Now we're seeing a lot of mass these days and some of you probably have worn them to work, and that's not a full covering, but I've noticed when someone smiles with the mask on, if you kind of look real careful, you can tell the eyes kind of squint up, but you can't see the smile.
