Safely Opening Up Public Masses
When restrictions were lifted, we started invited people back to Mass. To ensure safety, we held Mass in the gym to ensure that households were comfortable staying 6ft apart. -
Celebrating Mass in an Empty Church
For the first time in our lifetimes, public Masses have been suspended. Priest could still offer Mass in private. During Holy Week, the priests began celebrating Mass in the Church and the staff helped to livestream it so that the faithful could join remotely. -
Moving Our Food Pantry Outside
When the lockdowns started, the number of people seeking assistance from our food pantry skyrocketed. We had to move our service desk outdoors to safely accommodate all those who come to us. -

My parents received this magazine issue from the National Association of Evangelicals in early February 2021. The issue covers how the COVID-19 pandemic has impacted the church. It contains a short article from an Anglican Bishop and author who wrote a book titled "God and the Pandemic: A Christian Reflection on this Coronavirus and its Aftermath". It also takes a look at the impact of COVID on U.S. missions. -

Pastor Dan Roschke in Vacant Churches Traveling during the Pandemic
Pastor Roschke took the time to travel and put his church services on the road while he traveled the country. His journey lead him to do virtual Zoom meetings inside vacant churches abandoned in the COVID-19 pandemic. This was to both help him and his congregation relax in the pandemic as much of his congregation was becoming over whelmed with the new restrictions. The trip was also inspired by biblical stories such as in the book of Luke with the story Emmaus. -

Although he has alluded to the pandemic in his opening prayers several times using broad language, by my records it was his first specific/direct mention of coronavirus in an opening Senate prayer of his since March 23, 2020." -
Rabbi Romi Cohn: His Prayer in Congress and Remarks After His Passing
These videos, contributed by Howard Mortman (Communications Director at CSPAN), center around Rabbi Romi Cohn. As Mortman notes in his book (see Source), Cohn was a Holocaust survivor and member of the Jewish underground in his native Czechoslovakia. He delivered the House prayer on January 29, 2020-- 75 years after the liberation of Auschwitz. Unfortunately, Cohn died from COVID-19 two months after delivering his house prayer. He is remembered in the House daily prayer on March 27, 2020. -

L’dor Vador: Oral Histories of Resilience
This project is recruiting and training young adults to conduct oral history interviews and working to identify members of older generations in the community to be interviewed in Atlanta. The project is designed in partnership with Repair the World and AgeWell. The first group of interviewees are Volunteer Museum Educators (trained docents at the museum). Interviews are conducted over video calls and will be processed and added to the museum's archives, which can be accessed online. Publicized through institutional channels (website, social media, email) and in the local Jewish news.
